Training for busy people - how to find time for exercise?

Lack of time is the most common excuse - here's how to overcome it!

"I don't have time to workout"—have you heard that? Or maybe you say it yourself? The truth is: everyone has 24 hours in a day. It's a matter of priorities, not time. Here's how to fit training into your busy schedule!

Change the way you think

Instead of: "I don't have time to train"
Say: "Training is not my priority"

Sounds harsh? It's true! When something is truly important, we make time. Training is an investment in health, energy, and a long life. Isn't that a priority?

How much time do you REALLY need?

Myth: Training must last an hour.
Truth: 15-30 minutes of effective training is enough!

Research shows:

  • 15 minutes of HIIT = similar effects to 45 minutes of cardio
  • 20 minutes of strength training 3x a week = significant improvement in strength
  • 10 minutes a day > 0 minutes!

Strategies for finding time

1. Train in the morning

Why it works:

  • Less excuses - the day hasn't started yet
  • Energy boost for the whole day
  • A sense of achievement at 7am!
  • In the evening you have time for yourself/your family

How to get started:

  • Get up 30 minutes earlier
  • Prepare your outfit for the evening
  • Go to bed 30 minutes earlier
  • Start with 2x a week

2. Take advantage of your lunch break

30-minute break:

  • 15 min quick workout
  • 5-minute shower
  • 10-minute lunch

Benefits:

  • A break from work
  • More productivity in the afternoon
  • Evenings off

3. Train at home

You save:

  • Access to the gym (15-30 min each way!)
  • Time to change
  • Waiting for equipment

= More time for actual training!

4. Combine activities

  • Listen to audiobooks/podcasts while training
  • Spend time with your family actively (bicycle, walk)
  • Meeting friends at the gym instead of at a coffee shop
  • Active business meetings (walking meetings)

5. Micro-workouts throughout the day

Instead of one long workout:

  • Morning: 10 min (squats, push-ups, plank)
  • South: 10 min (walk, stairs)
  • Evening: 10 min (stretching, yoga)

= 30 minutes a day!

6. Use dead time

  • Waiting for the kettle to fill? Squats!
  • TV commercials? Board!
  • Phone call? Walk!
  • Are you brushing your teeth? Standing on one leg (balance)

Obstacles and solutions

"I'm too tired after work"
→ Train in the morning or during your lunch break

"I have children"
→ Train with them! Children love to imitate

"I travel often"
→ Equipment-Free Workouts Work Everywhere

"I have no energy"
→ Paradox: training GIVES energy!

"I don't like exercising"
→ Find an activity you enjoy (dancing, climbing, swimming)

The Truth About Time

The average person spends a day:

  • 3-4 hours on social media/TV
  • 2 hours of phone scrolling

Can you really not find 15 minutes to workout?

Remember

"I don't have time" = "It's not a priority for me"

If health, energy and long life are important to you, you will find time.

Start small: 10 minutes a day is 70 minutes a week. It's better than 0!

Be consistent: 15 minutes every day is better than 2 hours once a week.

Don't wait for the "perfect moment": There will never be a perfect time. Start now!

Your future self will thank you! ⏰💪
